Album

A Long Time Comin' is the first album by American rock band the Electric Flag, released in 1968. The album has a mix of musical styles, including soul along with blues and rock, with a horn section. The album also contains Groovin Is Easy and Over-Lovin You, which had been released as a single in 1967. Electric Flag. A Long Time Comin'. Writer Jeff Tamarkin says ex Butterfield Band guitarist Mike Bloomfield, drummer Buddy Miles, and others put this soul-rock band together in 1967. This debut is a testament to their ability to catch fire and keep on burnin'. That The Electric Flag do so well - they appeared at the Monterey International Pop Festival with the Blues Project, Paul Butterfield, and Janis Joplin, and all these groups had some musical connection to each other beyond that pivotal festival. The Electric Flag's first two albums are combined onto one CD on this German reissue, with the addition of basic historical liner notes in English. Oddly, considering that most people regard the second, Mike Bloomfield-less LP An American Music Band as markedly inferior to the debut A Long Time Comin', it's sequenced so that An American Music Band plays first. A Long Time Comin' is the first album by American rock band The Electric Flag, released in 1968. The meat of the album is soul along with blues and Electric Flag was an American blues rock soul group, led by guitarist Mike Bloomfield, keyboardist Barry Goldberg and drummer Buddy Miles, and featuring other musicians such as vocalist Nick Gravenites and bassist Harvey Brooks. Long Time Comin'. Blues Soul Blues Rock. Sunny и With Time There Is Change. Очень душевно. Альбом, в целом, так себе. The original Electric Flag album, A Long Time Comin' was such a shot of fresh air and creativity that some of the cuts from this still send a charge up my spine: Killing Floor, Texas, Easy Rider are all wild rides that stimulate the relational centers of my brain. Mike Bloomfield was in razor-sharp form on these cuts - his guitar sound was and is Unparalleled. Yes, oh yes this is an uneven production - by this time, Bloomfield was on his way out - it was weighing him down, man. The second one, The Electric Flag, An American Music Band is just doggone good right through, psyche. The Electric Flag, An American Music Band. A Long Time Comin' LP, Album, San. CS 9597. The Electric Flag is a phenomenal merging of blues, rock, soul, and psychedelia. Every song is a powerhouse, with outstanding performances. The catalyst and energy on this was caused by the tension created by Michael Bloomfield's desire to have a straight blues group and Buddy Mile's passion for large soul band arrangements. In my entire collection that spans over 60 years, this is one of my most played albums. It should be the cornerstone of any serious popular music collection. Mystery - The Electric Flag.
