Sloan and Steve Barri as a studio aggregation, Tip of My Tongue shows the writers expanding in both multi-leveled chord progressions and arrangements. A slightly quirky, minor-key verse leads gracefully into a hard rock chorus, one of the writers' more powerful hooks. Emotional confusion is the lyrical thrust here, and they convey the thoughts without contrivance.
