Just found this in my collection I am selling. Grey promo and with the etching, looks legit and not the bootleg. Union Jack rmx is just massive...
Some little trivia why this record hasn't been bigger is the fact that the "Wishing on a Star..."-vocal sample from Rose Royce has never been cleared officially. A tragical fate for a real great and classic remix from Union Jack.
Star - Union Jack remix - Amazing ACID !
I managed to source the red jerry mix on white label release from H2F it was only limited to 500 copies also featured .. joey beltram vrs opus 3 - fine day to flash ll cool j mama said knock you out [ 12inch remix
sorry to tell you this but if it came from HTFR then its more than likely a bootleg that they made, they repressed loads of tracks and got into quite allot of shit for doing it, they were raided several times. there is a thread on discogs somewhere about how to spot if its one of there dodgy bootlegs.
Awesome record, although it states it was on Vinyl but Im pretty sure, as with my copy, it was only released on acetate.
Throw her heart
StoffenL is absolutley correct. This record is extremely difficult to locate. I managed to get a copy for about $20... and to be honest, I would have spent $100 easy. Union Jack deliver as they always do and even though I'm writing this in 2008 (several years after its promo release), I have to say, this track will still tear up a dancefloor in the late hours. Red Jerry mix is also good... it was featured on oakenfold essetials 4CD with tong, cox, and sasha. If you stumble across this, do not let is pass you by !
Notoriously difficult to find (in August 2000, a copy went for 102 pounds on eBay). If you find it, get it! The Union Jack Mix is absolutely top notch trance for it's time. And it never gets cheesy (unlike a lot of the music today that has become famous as "trance" for the masses). Hypnotic grooves, beautiful harmonies, wobbling basslines, melodic sliding 303's, strings, gently singing/chanting female voices and an atmospheric whispering male voice (saying: 'Won't you come back'). And also the ..tremolish choir effect (obviously created by a Gate) ala BBE "Seven Days And One Week", was introduced before the big BBE-hit struck the charts. Remixes were also done by Todd Terry and Perplexer, but since this single didn't get a commercial release, those mixes were buried (which is kinda strange for me in one way: Todd Terry was "The God" back in those days).
